Description

This resource is for teaching elementary students all about worry. Many children don't understand what anxiety really feels and looks like, which means they don't know how to identify it and take care of it in themselves!

It is designed as a tier 1/universal lesson to help students to understand:

  • What is worry?
  • What are worry thoughts?
  • What does worry feel like in the body?
  • How is worry different than anger?
  • What can we do if we realize we're feeling worried? (breathing, thoughts, circle of control, asking for help)
  • What if we notice worry feelings in others?

The resource includes a slideshow (PowerPoint and Google Slides TM) with all of the information. It can be used in one longer worry lesson or broken into 2-3 shorter lessons. Interactive slides are included for distance learning. Multiple worksheets and discussion question task cards are also included.
