Worn Stories BUNDLE Fashion Design

Description
Worn Stories is a Netflix series that examines the way people interact with clothing on a deeper level. Each episode has a different theme. I have found that it is a great way to get kids engaged and to introduce them to all of the different ways we interact with our clothing. Trust me, my students LOVED this show.
This bundle has the following:
"Beginnings"
1. Google Slideshow
- Agenda (blank)
- Learning Target & Success Criteria
- Warm-up reflection question & discussion
- Slides that introduce the show and cocept
- Post-viewing reflection notes (video/audio prompt)
- Exit ticket
- Day 2 warm-up slides (corresponding to the exit ticket)
2. Clothing & Identity Likert Scale
- This is a 1-10 survey which prompts students to reflect on their own ideas about clothing & identity
"Love"
1. Google Doc sub-plan (which doesn't have to be a sub-plan). I post this directly to Google classroom- especially handy when you have to miss a day of teaching unexpectedly, as you don't need to print anything. I tell the sub to have students log in to Google Classroom to read instructions.
- Students reflect on the episode
- Next, students reflect and respond in writing to questions related to their own clothing as a reflection of their identity
- Students are asked to imagine being asked to record their own episode of Worn Stories and write a 2-3 paragraph response as a reflection of their ideas and learnings
- The episode is approximately 30 minutes long, so this is appropriate for a 60-90 minute class block. If you teach shorter periods, the written responses could be assigned as homework instead of classwork.
Student Project "Transition"
This project was a midterm for my fashion design 1 students and presented only after having watched two episodes of the series in class together ("Love" + "Beginnings"). Students are tasked with making a two-minute video with the theme of "transition". They have the choice of interviewing another student or creating a video about themselves.
1. Project description
2. Rough draft mind map
3. Script/question note catcher
4. Lesson plan notes
