Description
This timeline of Muslim and Islamic history product has twelve randomly ordered Muslim and Islamic event cards that students put in order and then tape on the provided organizer. Then, students do a simple drawing of each Muslim-Islamic event under the event card to drive engagement, learning, and retention.
This product is a popular choice during Ramadan and for Sunday School, World Religions, World History, World Religions, and European and American History classes.
It is also a wonderful tool to help Muslim students share their faith with classmates.
(For teachers that want even greater clarity, a helpful supplemental resource is this best-selling FLOWCHART AND COMPARISON CHART OF ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS.)
This product includes the following events:

Why This Product?
Students may know the basics of Muslim and Islamic history but many benefit from a product that gives them a creative high-level introduction to the rich and complex history of the faith. This product is a compelling mixture of events, people, and movements that will stimulate further thinking and deeper understanding. Some teachers use this product to teach narrative writing.
How This Product Works
Working in groups or alone, students cut out twelve randomly ordered event cards. Then, students put the cards in order and tape them onto the provided graphic organizer. To help memorization and learning, students are asked to tape only at the top of the card and draw a simple drawing of the event or a summary phrase underneath.
This activity has twelve events, the number that research indicates balances depth with rigor for the widest range of students.
Differentiation
For differentiation, card sets are available with and without dates and there is a challenging and thought-provoking extension on the graphic organizer for early finishers.
Reference Page
Some teachers may prefer to have the sequence as a reference page and not to do the activity. A reference page with the events in order is included free of charge.
