★ FAQS ★

Q: My school discourages me from using the number of copies I need to make interactive notebooks.

A: No worries! It's super easy to use the EDITABLE resources digitally--just insert them into Slides with ONE click! (Psst...most of the resources are editable.)

Q: I see that this unit is marked for 7th-10th grades. Why the broad range?

A: I teach AP world history and needed to shift and find resources for struggling 10th graders, so I designed this course. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback from middle school teachers (even 6th grade) that this course works really well for their students, as well as 9th and 10th grade teachers that their students love it!

Q: I noticed that your daily lesson plans are designed for the block schedule. I teach on traditional. Will this work for me?

A: Yes! It's super-easy to modify them for traditional. I give you instructions on how to do it quickly!

*** Each unit contains daily lesson plans, ideas for implementation, and tons of creative and engaging resources. Oh, and don’t forget about the editable component. You can use that to customize and digitize! ***

Unit 1: World History Ancient Civilizations Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Take your students back to the dawn of civilization. Engage them with Mesopotamia, India, China, and Egypt through concepts such as empire-building, religion, government, and laws.

Unit 2: World History Classical Greece and Ancient Rome Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Guide your students through Classical Greece (from the Persian Wars through Alexander the Great) and Ancient Rome (from republic to fall). Tell stories and read sources that have shaped Western thought for centuries.

Unit 3: World History Middle Ages in the East and West Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Juxtapose the East–the Mongols, the Golden Age of Islam, the Byzantine Empire, and the great trading kingdoms of Africa–with the West–the Franks, the Holy Roman Empire, feudalism, and the rise of nation-states. Who knew the Middle Ages were so fascinating?

Unit 4: World History Renaissance and Reformation Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Students witness the ascension of European art, banking, and ideas and the causes and effects of the second great divide in Christianity as modern Europe emerges.

Unit 5: World History Age of Exploration Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Show your students that exploration wasn’t only about technology and explorers. The prize of European exploration? The long-thriving Indian Ocean Trade. The ultimate result? The opening of the world, a new trade route, and the devastation of Old Imperialism and chattel slavery.

Unit 6: World History Enlightenment and Revolution Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Drive home the power of thought, assembly, and the pen to your students. Old forms of government give way to seismic change spurred by new ideas with the American, French, Haitian, and Latin American Revolutions.

Unit 7: World History Industrialization and Imperialism Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Your students will understand the power of economics as they analyze the major catalyst of New Imperialism–the Industrial Revolution. The world order changes dramatically as Europe, the U.S., and Japan use their newfound economic might to alter the world’s trajectory.

Unit 8: World History World War I Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: The previous units set the stage for this tragic war–one propelled by militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism. The punitive treaty and lack of self-determination for the colonies would set the stage for the tumultuous interwar years and the second world war.

Unit 9: World History Between the Wars Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Take your students through the “Anything Goes” Jazz Age to the global devastation of the Great Depression. They’ll understand the causes for the rise of fascism and communism and witness civil war in China and civil disobedience in India.

Unit 10: World History World War II Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Students will see that the Treaty of Versailles failed to solve the problems that led to WWI, culminating in WWII. Fascism is defeated and a new, devastating weapon permanently changes the nature of warfare, while the Holocaust reveals unimaginable devastation and darkness.

Unit 11: World History Cold War, Postcolonialism, and Terrorism Interactive Notebook Unit with Lesson Plans: Take your students on a topical tour of the contemporary world. They’ll see continuities and changes over time in the increasingly global age and the effects of past events with decolonization, genocide, and terrorism.

World History Digital Resources Growing Bundle: Digital flipbooks, webquests, presentations, and more–all in full-color on Google Slides that students can type right on to and submit to you on Google Classroom or whatever your LMS happens to be. I’m still adding to this folder as I digitize and create new resources.
