Description

This is a note-taking strategy that I came up with, designed, and started using this year. It’s what I called a One-Page Summary, and it’s a one page notes template designed to cover ONE topic, chapter, or section at a time. Because it’s one page only, I focus only on the pertinent information that the students must absolutely walk away knowing.

This talks about what is imperialism, how Africa was before imperialism, factors that promoted imperialism of Africa, Berlin Conference, five major motives of imperialism and many more.

Powerpoint with all the notes for this worksheet is sold separately and its called World History: Chapter 27, Section 1: The Scramble for Africa

IMPORTANT: This needs to be printed on LEGAL SIZED PAPER [8.4X14]

Benefits:

It helps students to identify the main points.

It helps students to know exactly what they need to read, learn and study.

It helps students to differentiate between important details and minor details.

It helps students to better summarize large texts.

It helps enhance students ability to read maps if a map activity is included

It helps the more visual students to remember the information.
