Word of the Week-Positive reinforcement

Student’s all benefit from being told “Great Job”

I have implemented a fun way to expand our positive reinforcement vocabulary. We have a Word of the Week poster in the front of the room. Students refer to the poster to commend a peer on their hard work, creativity or helpfulness. We pick a word at the beginning of the week, and review the different ways of using it in a phrase. The word remains posted until the following
Monday.

It is a fun, silly way to motivate students during the day!
I have overheard my students using the vocabulary on their own
outside at recess or in the classroom. It has proven a success
