What educators are saying

I love how there are so many topics to choose from. This allows for the word searches to be used for vocabulary development and content specific language. My students always enjoy doing word searches and it’s a great fast finished!
My students LOVE these word search puzzles. I use them as quiet work after tests. If the students finish their word search puzzle, they bring it up to me and earn a piece of candy. Even as an ELA teacher I am able to use these puzzles. Thank you so much!

    NOTE: Additional word searches are not guaranteed to be added. BUT, the price of this bundle may gradually increase if I choose to add more word searches.

    The most recent puzzles were added on March 13-14. They are on the topics of a solar eclipse, 'lucky' cereal, and 'find someone who' spring break activity. Other recent puzzles were Multiples of Ten and Word Form of Numbers 0-20, as well as Teacher Appreciation, Nurse Appreciation, Insects, Celebrate May, and Lemonade Stand.

    Once again, there is no guarantee how many word searches will be added to this bundle, as I don't want to make a promise and not be able to fulfill it. With that said though, this bundle can only hold a maximum of 400 puzzles because that is the capacity of TpT's bundle tool.

    ============================

    Please take time to read the wonderful reviews on this bundle. :-) I've had lots of people tell me that this is one of their FAVORITE PURCHASES ever on TpT. If you use word searches with a purpose, they are very versatile. See some possible uses below.

    ============================

    If I get a new idea for a puzzle, I add it to this bundle for you to download. Would you like me to consider making one on a topic you don't see? No guarantees, but I will try to work it into my schedule.

    All of the word searches can be purchased separately in my store too.

    ✓BEFORE you buy :-) Take time to read the topics of the word search puzzles below. Some of the puzzles deal with United States history and holidays. If you do not live in the US, those might not apply to you. Also, a few of the topics might be more suitable for 4th and 5th, such as The Gettysburg Address.

    What are some extension activities I can do with students?

    If you need some extension activities to use with the word list, please see this choice board pack: CLICK HERE These choice boards are great for additional early finisher activities.

    Are the word searches challenging?

    Important.....In the word searches, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonally. I would consider them on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions. >>>>Keep this in mind when considering it for third grade and below.

    How might you use word search puzzles?

    ✱ A literacy center if your students write about some of the words listed on the word search

    ✱ Last minute sub activity or leave as extra work for a sub

    ✱ English as second language vocabulary review

    Writing - Use ten words in a sentence or state the definition to give you an idea of what they know about each word.

    Early / Fast Finishers - Finished early with work activity.

    ✱ Quiet morning work activity for students on the day of the holiday or the day you are introducing the topic shown on the word search.

    ✱ Use the words in a short narrative telling about their own celebrations for holidays.

    Summarize what they have learned about the topic using the words as a guide.

    ✱ Glue the word search in their writing notebooks to have a list of words for future writing topics.

    ✱ the list goes on and on for ways to incorporate the words into lessons and not use just as a word search

    The 268 word searches include subjects like social studies, US history, language arts, reading, math, science, holidays, and more!
