This fully editable lesson plan, worksheet and template for a Women's History Month activity where students learn about important female musicians and singers who made a difference! Use this activity to encourage open-mindedness and build an inclusive classroom community that embraces and celebrates Women's History and the important contributions of female musicians and singers in the music industry -- historically and current-day! Students will learn about 16 different female musicians and singers who made (or are making) a significant contribution or impact to the music world, and will then get to pick one to research further in small groups, and then create a slide to share with the class!
For homework, have students write a reflection about the important contributions of female musicians and singers and the obstacles that they had to overcome to achieve greatness.
