Description

This fully editable lesson plan, worksheet and template for a Women's History Month where students learn about important female artists who made a difference! Use this activity to encourage open-mindedness and build an inclusive classroom community that embraces and celebrates Women's History and the important contributions of female artists in the art world. Students will learn about 16 different female artists who made a significant contribution or impact to the art world, and will then get to pick one to research further in small groups, and then create a slide to share with the class!

For homework, have students write a reflection about the important contributions of female artists and the obstacles that they had to overcome to achieve greatness.

The product includes:

  • Women's History Month - Significant Female Artists Lesson Plan: Complete lesson plan for guiding students through notes and independent activity where students learn about 16 important female artists and then pick one to research further in small groups.
  • Student Handout: For students to complete the Do Now, collect notes, collect research, and fill in information about the artists.
  • Homework Reflection Paragraph: For homework, assign students a written reflection where they consider the impact of the female artists that they learned about during class.
  • 16 Short Paragraphs on Important Female Artists: Introduce students to 16 significant female artists with these short paragraphs that include images and are accessible and provide key details about life and legacy.
