Women in the Civil War: Job Fair and Primary Source Analysis

Lesson 1: Job Fair

In this historical dialogue activity, students will explore 13 different historical women who lived during the Civil War. Half the class will play interviewers seeking to fill important positions for the war effort while the other half will play women looking to get involved.

Lesson 2: Primary Source Analysis and Historical Report

In this lesson, students will take on the role of a journalist and analyze primary sources as they investigate the different roles women played in the Civil War. After collecting evidence, students will write an article detailing their findings.
