What educators are saying

My students loved this project! My only suggestion is to use thicker wire because once the panty hose is over the wire, it tends to shrink. Aside from that, Sabrina provided all the important steps and students were successful.
Great resource. Clear instructions and students were engaged. Awesome results. A favorite project and seller!

Description

Students are assigned an art movement, find reference and use the characteristics of that movement to create and form a painting on their wire sculptures. Students write a reflection on how the elements and principles were used to create art in the style of that movement.

The great thing about these reference sheets/task cards is that they can be used as a lesson or in combination with any lesson you may be teaching. I've done a lesson for lower grades on Pop Art and Art Nouveau that you can find in my store, but you can use them in any lesson that requires students to learn or understand the art movements or cultural arts that are included.

This presentation goes through five of the major modern art movements including, Expressionism, Impressionism, Art Nouveau, Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art and includes two cultural art cards one on African Art and the other on Aboriginal Art. It includes basic information about each movement, Who, What, Where as well as a link to a general information video. The companion card includes photos of examples from notable artists of the movement.

I've included a PDF that can be projected with hot links to movies of each movement/culture. It can also be printed for reference sheets.

I also created task card sizes of each movement/culture for ease of use in the classroom.

Included:

  • Detailed Lesson plan with rubric, national standards, big ideas, essential questions, supplies, goals, objectives, step-by-step instructions and vocabulary
  • 29- Page Painted Sculpture Presentation
  • Art Reflection Assessment
  • Example of well-written art reflection
  • Art movements/cultures page - Who, What, When and Why
  • Examples of prominent artists of each movement
  • Movements include: Expressionism; Abstract Expressionism; Pop Art; Art Nouveau; Impressionism.
  • Cultures include: Aboriginal Art and African Art.
  • Task card size of the above pages are also included. (These cards/pages could be used with any lesson!)
  • Link to movie of the history of the art movement/culture

{These art history pages and task cards are made with classroom teachers and substitutes in mind. Each set focuses on a different art movement in art history, talks about the history of that movement and shows examples of artwork created in that style. Also included are two cards on cultural art; African and Aboriginal. A video link to a short introduction to each movement/culture are included.
