    Description

    Winter Snowflakes

If you're looking for an engaging way to have students practice Figurative Language, this winter snowflake activity is for you. A perfect hook for a poetry unit with a lesson on Simile, Metaphor, Hyperbole, Personification, Alliteration, and Word Choice. The finished snowflakes make for an eye-catching bulletin board.

    This NO-PREP resource includes:

    • Notes to the Teacher with detailed directions and pictures
    • 3 worksheets with examples of each snowflake to share with your students.
    • Winter Wonderland with Figurative Language worksheet for students to practice writing original examples of figurative language
    • 3 worksheets with 2 snowflakes on each page for students to write and decorate

If you are creative, have creative students, or the help of an art teacher, you could make a tree out of brown construction paper and sprinkle the snowflakes throughout. If not, a bulletin board full of snowflakes will look GREAT as is!
