    Description

15% off special on Winter themed bundle, which includes two games that are perfect to add some fun in your learning environment. The two games include Figurative Language based Bingo and Figurative Language based Matching Card Game.

    How do the games work?

    1. BINGO

    • With the 2 full sets of 30 cards (total 60) that are provided you can choose if you want students to identify the figurative language by calling out the examples or identify the example by calling out the FL terms or just use BOTH sets.
    • You will receive a bingo card with a grid of 16 squares (4x4), 2 of which are not usable and it covered with a snowflake image. A caller then calls out random FL example or FL term (depends on the set you choose). If the FL term or example called is present on the board, cross it out. The first player to get four in a row, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, wins bingo.

    2. A few way to play with Matching Cards

    • "Concentration" or the "Memory Game" is to turn all the cards upside down and take turn seeking matches (example of the FL to the specific figurative language it is referring to). The one who collects the most pair wins.
    • Gold Fish, use the traditional rules for gold fish, but use figurative language matching game cards.
    • Jeopardy, similar to the traditional game. Print ONLY the examples of the cards and laminate them or not, tape all the cards on a wall or board facing down with the point values showing. When a student chooses the point value and the card it turned over the instructor may say, "what is (read the line of the card) an example of?

Possibilities are endless can also be used for reviews.

    What is included?

    1. Bingo

    • 2 sets of 30 Bingo Cards (60 total)
    • Instruction
    • Callers Card
    • Some discussion tips while playing Bingo

    2. Matching Game Card

    • 32 decorative cards in total (16 cards with example and images, 16 cards with the FL terms)

    Reminders and Recommendation:

    • Please, run test prints because depending on default printing settings it can change the measurement of the template. Also depending on how many cards you want in one sheet, review layout preference and size.
    • For longer lasting usage of the cards, I recommend printing these on card stock if it is available and laminating it. The cards can be used anytime through out the year. Also use dry erase markers for bingo for an easy clean up.
