Paired passages reading lesson for winter with graphic organizer and craftivity. This lesson includes 2 paired texts on the Winter Solstice. One article discusses the cultural significance and traditions in Japan while the other article describes the Winter Solstice Lantern Festival in Vancouver, Canada. Students will use a graphic organizer to compare and contrast the two articles. Then they will get to make their own Winter Solstice lantern.
Social Studies & Science
