The Whole Body Listening social narrative is about how to be a good listener. It was designed for students with autism and is perfect to help all kids (especially those in enrolled in special education services) understand how essential listening is when it comes to showing that they care. It goes over why listening is important and how they can show that they are listening.

The listening social narrative includes how to listen, such as by looking at the speaker, facing your body towards the speaker, and having a quiet mouth and safe body. It also includes that not listening may lead to people thinking that they don't care or they aren't a good friend.

The narrative also includes clipart as a visual aid for students who can't read.

The activity can be made into a poster for your classroom or a handout activity. It's purpose is remind students what active listening consists of. It was designed to be an activity for students to demonstrate their listening skills by following the directions on the handout.
