This What is Psychology activity includes:
1) A colorful graphic organizer that asks your students to look back at old school psychology and define the word trephination. Next students will identify and define the 5 waves of psychology. On the back side of the page, students will identify the 7 schools of psychology. This activity will be a great review for an introductory unit on psychology.
The final portion of the activity asks your students to analyze two quotes about psychology. The first quote is from William James and the second quote is from Sigmund Freud. Your students will not only analyze the quote but are also asked to interpret the quotes using their own experiences.
This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
