Weird Al Experience Music Assignment

“Weird Al” Yankovic (www. weirdal.com) is a singer-songwriter who is known for his humorous songs that often parody popular music. By taking a familiar nursery rhyme and changing the lyris, grade 5 students (although this assignment can easily be modified for grades 4-6) demonstrate their understanding of the elements of music.

This is an opportunity for teachers to assess students on their music understanding without using a written test format. Oral presentation skills are also assessed with the included rubric.
