“Miss Minto’s Musical Moments”
Over the past year during lockdown I’ve created 200 “Musical Moments” which I’ve made available to all schools nationwide here in the UK. I’m pleased to say they have been very popular with many thousands of downloads! They consist of 200 resources, each of which consists of links to brilliant YouTube videos on lots of different topics such as animals, countries, beatboxing, self esteem, history, Westerns and so many more. Lots of background information on the various topics is also provided. I am sending all 200 “Musical Moments” entirely free of charge on purchase of any one of my 29 song packs. The songs in this weather pack are quite versatile as regards age range. There is the simplicity of “Rainbow Set” and “Dressed For Fun” compared with the more complex “Tornado”, “Hurricanes” and “Stormy Nights”. The complete water cycle is covered in “Clouds” but can be accessible to younger children by simply encouraging them to sing the chorus and listen to the verses. There are plenty of opportunities for percussion work in “Thermometer” and “The Sun Is Shining”. Chromatic scales are introduced in “The Wind Is Blowing”. There is even an opportunity to speak a little French (paradoxically!) In “The Rain In Spain”!
The complete set of 10 Weather songs consists of:
* 20 mp3 files, with both vocal and piano backing tracks
* a PDF of the music and lyrics
* a separate Word document of the lyrics
* Teachers’ notes to assist with the delivery of the songs
* Two illustrated PowerPoint presentations of all the songs containing all the lyrics on screen. One has both versions of the audio embedded (see illustrations). The other has the staff notation. If you are one of the growing number of teachers who has access to a digital projector you will find this to be a useful resource.
