What educators are saying

This is a great resource to use for a small group if you are doing a novel study. The things included in this bundle were just what I needed to check on my students' comprehension of what they were reading.
Cute book, great packet. I used it with a small, above-level reading group. I like the variety of reading skills, and I love that a quiz is included!

Description

This resource is perfect for a book study for individual students or a class read on Renee Watson's Ways to Make Sunshine. It contains whole book activities including a quiz. Also includes individual chapter vocabulary, figurative language, and discussion questions.

This book is a perfect realistic fiction story of a girl who faces normal, day-to-day issues. She learns to find ways of looking at the problems with a positive view. Many of her issues will be relatable to students of 2-5th grade.

This resource could be easily used by the teacher as a class-wide read by reading the vocabulary and discussion questions. Students could answer the questions in discussion format or write responses down in a reading journal. Teacher could also print the questions with the open-ended answers and have students glue them into a notebook. Teachers could also print all of the open-ended questions for each chapter and make a booklet for students to walk through in a literature circle or independent study.

Themes: Friendship, Family, Positive Outlook, Stage Fright
