This book is a perfect realistic fiction story of a girl who faces normal, day-to-day issues. She learns to find ways of looking at the problems with a positive view. Many of her issues will be relatable to students of 2-5th grade.
This resource could be easily used by the teacher as a class-wide read by reading the vocabulary and discussion questions. Students could answer the questions in discussion format or write responses down in a reading journal. Teacher could also print the questions with the open-ended answers and have students glue them into a notebook. Teachers could also print all of the open-ended questions for each chapter and make a booklet for students to walk through in a literature circle or independent study.
