What educators are saying

I love that I can add this to Google Classroom, the students read and complete it, and then I look over it. This lets me know who still needs more instruction.

Description

This resource includes 10 fluency passages with comprehension questions and 10 matching word sorts. Each passage will have students laughing and having fun while building fluency and focusing on comprehension. Audio is included in both the Seesaw and Google Classroom version.

Beginning readers need practice segmenting words, reading sight words, and developing reading fluency. As they become fluent in their reading, they also need practice identifying, spelling, and writing the various graphemes/spelling patterns for each vowel sound. This bundle is perfect for students who are beginning to decode words with various vowel teams and long vowel spelling patterns. It also works well for fluent readers who need to begin to apply these spelling patterns in their writing.

This digital resource is presented in google slides. Students can click on the microphone and the passage is read to them. If you do not want the passage to be read to your students, the sound can be removed in google slides before assigning the passage to you students. (I plan to leave the microphone, but also ask my students to read the passage over and over until they are fluent. I also plan to ask them to record themselves reading the passage! I really think this will give my students the practice they need to build fluency as they apply these new phonics skills.) While using each passage, students will drag and drop lines to underline all of the words with the vowel sound. They will type their answers directly on the google slide. To complete each word sort, students will move each word in the word bank to the correct group.
