Description

Volume and Surface Area (Prisms, Pyramids, Cylinders, Cones, Spheres, Hemispheres) Bingo Game

This is a PowerPoint Fly-Swatter Bingo Game game in which the flies really do fly, which the students LOVE! The game reviews volume and surface area of the following solids: rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, trapezoidal prisms, pentagonal prisms, cylinders, square pyramids, triangular pyramids, hexagonal pyramids, cones, spheres, and hemispheres. For pentagonal and hexagonal bases, the base area is given. In some cases, the Pythagorean Theorem must be used in order to solve for a missing length. These problems were written for a high school level geometry class.

It can be played with a Smart Board in which students can aim for a fly with a koosh ball. Or, if you do not have a Smart Board, you can play it with a projector and just have students come up to the computer to click on a fly.

Once a fly is selected, a problem will appear. Students must find the volume or surface area by showing work on their recording worksheet (included with game). Then, they look up their answer on their bingo sheet. Also included are 30 individualized bingo boards.
