Description

Need a fun way to review Volume of rectangular prisms? Students will find the volumes of several different rectangular prisms. Print the included Bingo cards (35), project the slides, and your students will go crazy to find the volumes of over 32 different prisms.

They'll:

multiply to find volume

add to find the sum of 2 volumes

subtract to find the difference between 2 volumes

divide to find missing factors in a given volume.

My students beg to play, and while playing they'll do more math operations in this simple game than they would on any worksheet. Instructions for Bingo included. After playing Bingo once a few days later we reviewed again by racing to find answers. Both ways are a great review of Volume!

After playing Bingo for review, use the attached Easel Assessment for a formative assessment of your students volume skills!

Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths by packing it with unit cubes of the appropriate unit fraction edge lengths, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths of the prism. Apply the formulas 𝘝 = 𝘭 𝘸 𝘩 and 𝘝 = 𝘣 𝘩 to find volumes of right rectangular prisms with fractional edge lengths in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
