This activity can be completed on paper or with any device that supports Google Slides. The included PDF includes access to the link that will allow you to make your own copy of the digital resource for use in Google Classroom/Google Drive.

Voice Practice: Students learn about the effective use of voice by completing two practice activities. Each activity requires students to correctly match their voice to a corresponding situation and comment. The activities can be completed as a class or with partners.
Voice Activity: The public speaking voice activity contains 26 situations and comments to be completed as a class. Each student will randomly draw a situation and comment to be read to the class in an appropriate voice. Options for using the digital version are included.
Guess the Gesture: Introduce nonverbal communication with a (PPT or Google Slides) presentation. First, students guess the meaning of ten different gestures. Next, students provide an example of when the gesture might be used. This activity can be done orally or on paper. A printable and digital worksheet for recording answers is included.
Gestures Informational Text: The printable and digital text is focused on the meaning and uses of gestures.
Gestures Comprehension Questions: Students answer five comprehension questions based on the gestures text. The questions are set up to ensure student understanding. The gestures practice activity can be completed as a class or with partners.
Gestures Practice: Students work in partners (if possible) to practice adding appropriate gestures to each of the ten comments. At the end of the practice session, select student volunteers to perform in front of the class.
