Description

This Vocabulary Enrichment Instructional Program contains 5 volumes, each of which has 20 stories and 100 supporting activity/worksheet pages. Each story is written using K-2 vocabulary, into which a set of target 3rd and/or 4th grade words are imbedded. Stories range from 75-150 words.

Each volume is independent of, but equivalent to, all of the others. This means you can introduce them in any order. If you choose to teach only a single volume during a semester, you may choose whichever one you like. However, after choosing a particular volume, it is recommended that you introduce its 20 stories in the order that they are presented.

And, yes, the program pdf consists of nearly 1,150 pages. Each page is numbered so that you can print out just a single page or a series of pages - whatever you need at the time. A Table of Contents is included to make this fast and simple to do!

The teacher section of this vocabulary curriculum contains a full description of how the program works, a lesson plan, a list of standards, and assessment materials, as well as flashcards, vocabulary lists, and selected activity answer keys.

The stories are appropriate for all ages. They revolve around common situations, and many have a social-lesson value. The short and highly focused approach makes them ideal for use with struggling readers and/or special education students who have reading goals in their IEPs.
