This resource includes a PowerPoint and two worksheets. Use the 65-slide PowerPoint to teach your students about the three basic verb tenses: past tense, present tense, and future tense. Students are taught rules for forming verb tenses. Students are given many practice opportunities where they write sentences and identify verb tenses.

Slides 1-10: Introduction to Past Tense, Present Tense, and Future Tense

Slides 11-18: Reading Sentences & Identifying Verb Tense

Slides 19-21: Forming Future Tense Verbs

Slides 22-24: Forming Regular Past Tense Verbs

Slides 25-30: Forming Present Tense Verbs

Slides 31-38: Verb Tense Charts & Writing Sentences

Slides 39-43: Irregular Past Tense Verbs

Slides 44-51: Recognizing Tenses & Writing Sentences

Slides 52-65: Fill-in-the-blank Practice Slides

This file also includes a PowerPoint companion handout. Students will remain especially engaged when they write on their own handout as you advance through the PowerPoint.
