What educators are saying

I love all of Mrs. B's resources. I use them regularly as an integral part of my physics classroom to keep things interesting, engaging, and real. Thank you. Read it over briefly, print, engage!
These notes were perfect for reviewing velocity vs time and position vs time graphs. I love the section where the students come up with a story to match the velocity vs time graph.

Description

Master velocity-time graphs with these Doodle Notes for Physics! They will learn how to read and interpret velocity-time graphs. Students will be able to read the graph, find the slope to determine the acceleration, find the area under the graph to determine displacement, identify common shapes of graphs and their meanings, and write a story related to a graph. The third doodle note has students make connections between the shapes of position-time graphs and velocity-time graphs for various types of motion. This bundle contains velocity-time graph doodle notes, very similar "speed-time" graph versions, answer keys and corresponding anchor charts. My answer keys are suggestions based on my class needs, annotate notes your way to suit your curriculum needs.

This resource is included in my Kinematics and Motion Doodle Note Bundle and my amazing, cost-saving Physics Bundle.

This ZIP file includes:

★ 6 Doodle Notes (3 student notes x 2 versions: velocity-time and speed-time), with suggested answer keys

★ 6 Doodle Note Anchor Charts, sized at 24”x36” (Print at copy center as “engineering prints”)

★ Tips on printing and laminating the anchor charts

All files are PDF.

I have used ALL of the notes from the Kinematics and Motion Doodle Note Bundle with my Physics classes over the past year. The students and I really prefer this method to traditional note-taking. Physics students often struggle with concepts because they focus on the mathematical side of things. Doodle notes provide an opportunity to look at relationships in multiple ways, while activating both sides of the brain through the creative doodling, annotating and coloring. Doodle notes have been shown to:

★ increases retention

★ activate the whole brain, the logical left side and the creative right side.

★ improve focus, people who doodle recall more than those who daydream

★ calm students and reduces stress

★ add novelty to the class, which in turn helps to engage students
