Description
Build a bridge linking Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day with this beautiful craftivity! Created for students in grades three to five, but with possibities included for scaffolding to other grades, ages, or special needs.
Your students will create a collage of a heart and background paper with a Chinese language character to share a message from their own heart. Hearts may be cut, torn, or simply filled in, using the printable pages in this resource. The finished activity makes a beautiful display for your classroom or a show-stopping portfolio piece!

This resource uses readily available materials in most classrooms, and I've also included printable ready to use pages in case you need them.
Prep is quick and easy... Just print the student pages, gather the materials listed, and you're ready for a fun, artistic, and engaging session! This activity could actually be done at a center by a parent volunteer, or accomplished on a substitute day.
