Description

This fully editable lesson comes with a lesson plan and worksheet for teaching a fun Valentine's Day-inspired class on blackout poetry using classic fairy tales and excerpts from classic stories as the texts! Start with a discussion about the importance of word choice and how words create mood or atmosphere. Then, have students work in small groups to create a blackout poem using an excerpt from the famous fairy tale "The Little Mermaid." After that, have students use one of the 6 fairy tales / poems / excerpts from classic love stories provided in this packet to make their own blackout poem using a classic text.
