This resource allows students to be an active part of their vocal range testing and choir part identification in your secondary choir classroom! Middle and High School students will appreciate being part of the process to assess their vocal range and choir voice part. Great to use with choir voice placement auditions!
This resource includes a Google SLIDE version as well as a printable PDF. Students can complete synchronously or asynchronously, during rehearsal or before they attend. Very flexible!

This resource highlights the different choir vocal types and give students tools to identify their own vocal range and tessitura, learn about the 4 main choir voice parts, and hear examples of each voice classification. It uses gender-neutral language and includes diverse video examples for each voice part (20 total!). The "Voices in Transition" slide addresses some aspects of the adolescent changing voice and transgender possible voice changes in a student-friendly manner.

How do I collect student work?
Your students will simply complete their own copies of the lesson and turn them into your platform (ie. Google Classroom). The PDF may be printed for a paper version.
This product is created for ease of use with Google Drive. However, all Google products can be downloaded as a Powerpoint or PDF if that is your preferred method of content delivery.
