United States Flag Timeline and Webquest

Students will improve skills in creating timelines, reading timelines and online research while learning about the American flag!

This Online Scavenger Hunt has students go to different websites to answer questions about the history of the American flag. Students will need to be able to look at the online timelines in order to determine when things happen, answer questions and make assumptions based on dates.

This is a great activity to use while teaching about timelines or internet research skills any time of the year! It can also be used to learn about the American flag on national holidays such as Presidents' Day, Memorial Day and Patriots' Day, or before summer break in preparation for the fourth of July and Flag Day!

Students should have some knowledge of timelines and basic internet skills before completing this activity. Prior knowledge about the history of the American flag and internet research are not necessary.
