This includes:

  • 18 problem cards
  • Recording sheet
  • Instructions
  • Answer key with problems worked out (great for days with a substitute) as well as a quick look answer sheet with just answers.

To play:

Pair up students. They can start at any card. Once they have solved the word problem they look for the corresponding card that matches their answer until all word problems are solved. Compute unit rates associated with ratios of fractions, including ratios of lengths, areas and other quantities measured in like or different units. For example, if a person walks 1/2 mile in each 1/4 hour, compute the unit rate as the complex fraction ½/¼ miles per hour, equivalently 2 miles per hour.
