Unit Circle Discovery Guide | Hands-on guide to the values of the Unit Circle!

Take your students' understanding of the Unit Circle to the next level with this hands-on and engaging Unit Circle Discovery Guide! Designed to help students build connections between the special angle measures and intersection ordered pair values (x, y) on the Unit Circle, Angles of Rotation on the Coordinate Plane, and Special Right Triangles.

This Discovery includes:

• WARM UP ACTIVITY (2 options): This activity will challenge your students to utilize the 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 Special Right Triangle models to identify the missing side lengths of similar triangles with a hypotenuse measure of 1 unit!
  
  Students will cut out and use these triangles as tools to discover the Unit Circle!
  
  2 options included! Differentiate for your students by choosing the Warm Up option WITH the triangle theorems printed or WITHOUT the triangle theorems printed.
  
  
• QUADRANT 1 MODELING TOOL FOR GOOGLE SLIDES™️: Use this Modeling Tool to model expectations for students in this discovery. This instructional tool help you to guide students through the discovery of the Quadrant 1 Values on the Unit Circle.
  
  
• GUIDED DISCOVERY/NOTE GUIDE: This sheet will allow your students to record the angles of rotation on the Unit Circle in both degrees and radians, as well as the ordered pair (x, y) where each angle of rotation intersects the Unit Circle!
  
  This sheet ALSO includes questions that challenge your students to reflect, summarize, and extend their thinking on the Unit Circle. The extension focuses on students recognizing the connection between the ordered pair (x, y) on the Unit Circle and the sine and cosine values of the corresponding angle of rotation.
  
  
• TEACHER KEY & TIPS GUIDE: A Teacher Key & Tips Guide is included to help you facilitate this discovery with your students.

Prerequisite Skills to this Discovery:

• Students should be able to graph an angle of rotation (degrees) in Standard Position on a coordinate plane.
