Unit 3- Place Value for First Grade

Common Core is really pushing us to think deeply about the way we teach math. We are digging deep to produce thinkers. This is my third unit that is deeply researched, thought out, and core based. This unit has a deep focus on place value, brief touch on adding to get the same answer, and brief introduction to shapes.

This unit is build for thinkers. It offers students lots of hand on learning and lots of math talk for explaing reasoning and providing evidence. Included are plans for 5 weeks of teaching. It also contains math mats for hands-on learning. Also included are practice pages that can be used for extra reinforcement in the classroom or for homework.

This Unit is centered around standards in first grade. :)
