This core resource includes worksheets, discussion questions, written response questions, jeopardy games, as well as pre- and post-reading activities.

    3. Informational Texts

Texts on real world issues such as indoctrination in North Korea, euthanasia in Holland, and the controlling effects of certain prescription drugs illuminate many of the issues explored in "The Giver."

    4. Harrison Bergeron

Kurt Vonnegut's classic short story, "Harrison Bergeron," is set in a failed utopia and shares many parallels with the setting of "The Giver".
