Ukrainian Pysanky - Traditional Easter Eggs - Traditional Ukrainian Easter Eggs explained for kids!
This interactive activity booklet is a great little lesson that is ideal for students in grades 3 - 6. In this handout you will get:
- An introductory page, describing various traditional Easter Eggs (including the pysanka)
- An explanation of the various colours used on pysanky (both naturally derived, and synthetic)
- An explanation of many symbols used on pysanky,
- A Pysanka Lab where students are asked to use their knowledge of symbols and colours to decorate 4 Easter Eggs,
- A personal pysanka page where students design their own pysanka, and describe their choices in symbols and colour,
- And a 'Crack the Code' riddle to solve for fun!
This package also contains 3 answer keys to help you assess their understandings.
