U.S. National Symbols 3-Part Cards

One of the most popular Montessori geography activities is "Study of a Country." This national symbol card set is a nice extension to a study of the United States. Included are:
16 printable national symbol pictures;
16 corresponding labels;
16 corresponding "stories" or explanatory paragraphs;
and 11 suggested children's book links for introducing selected national symbols.

The picture cards with labels and stories can be used as a reading exercise, and as a springboard for additional research. Further research might include discovering the national symbols of other nations, and/or exploring the lives of the U.S. presidents for whom we have monuments: Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln.

Print on card stock, laminate, and use a paper cutter to neatly separate the individual cards.
