What educators are saying

This was a great word wall to use in my American History class! Definitions were simple and basic and easily readable from across the room. I changed it out with every unit and students referred to it throughout our units on assignments.

    Description

This is a complete word wall for the Entire 8th Grade History Course based on the TEKS. There are 297 terms and words in this bundle. Each word is accompanied by a short aligned description and an image. The words are organized by era (units) so that it will be easy to print and go throughout the year! (Age of Jackson is included as a FREE example of the work just click the preview button to download)

Creating your own word wall is a pain, however research has proven that having a word wall up helps students remember concepts taught in class. Interacting with the word wall brings this tool to a whole other level!

This resource is designed to be interactive with student participation and manipulation. It will work as a static word wall, but it is best utilized with the tips offered below!

    • Laminate your timeline so that students can interact with it!
    • Use velcro to attach the words to the timeline
    • When you have a few extra minutes in class have students attach the terms to the timeline
    • Take words from different eras and have students work in groups to compare and contrast
    • Take words from different eras and have students play "odd man out" game
    • Have students sort the words in chronological order

Whatever we can do to get students moving and talking about History will help them remember the material, and the more you utilize your timeline the more they will get a chance to review!
