Human Rights & the Circle of Courage: Social Studies/ELA/Science Unit Plan

This resource follows Canadian and Manitoban curriculum for Grade 7 Social Studies, English Language Arts and Environmental Science, with a specific focus on the Indigenous Learning Model - The Circle of Courage. The inclusion of Indigenous perspectives and education is essential when learning about Human Rights in Canada.

General lesson outlines and their connection to the curriculum is included, but can be modified as needed to fit your own class and curriculum needs.

Originally created as an assignment in an Education Course, this unit has been modified and used in some Middle Years classrooms. There are suggestions for activities, lessons, and some related resources included.
