Description

Grammar review doesn't have to be boring and monotonous! Get kids up and moving with this print and go, classroom-tested interactive game for reviewing the four types of sentence structures (simple, compound, complex, compound-complex) that comes in printable task card format and an interactive digital format. Great with a lesson on syntactic variety, sentence diagramming, sentence structures, sentence combining, writing, etc.!

Student Experience: Students will learn with movement as they review the four types of sentence structures. Give students one or more cards, and they will identify the type of sentence on the card. I've also included a digital version of the activity that students can use right in Google on their devices. Each sentence is a line from literature. This activity could be used as task cards, small groups games, large group interactive sorting activity, literacy center lessons, bell ringers, exit tickets, distance learning practice, online classrooms review, and more.

Included:

  • 40 practice sentences
  • Instructions for play and extension
  • Answer key
  • 100% editable PPT file and interactive digital version for Google

♥ "My students loved this game! It can be difficult making grammar fun in the classroom, and this game proved to be both fun and challenging for my students. Thank you!"

♥ "Excellent product for my 7th and 8th grade classes! I printed extra signs and split the cards into smaller groups to make the activity faster for me to check. Then when a group finished they rotated to a new station. This has 30 sentences and I split it into 3 groups. There are so many versatile options!"

♥ "I used this with my students in English II as review for writing, and I also used this with my seniors for review of the ACT. I have watched my seniors increase their English scores this year, and I know that activities like this one are the reason. Thanks!"

♥ "I really like that the sentences are quote from books. It adds an extra level of greatness to this activity!"

♥ "Used the cards for a game. The students had a blast. I loved the sentences you used. Great resource."
