1) Two-Step Equations - Michael Jackson (Black History Month)
This is a fun math activity where students can practice solving two step equations while learning about one of the most influential people in the music industry, Michael Jackson.
Great activitiy to do in February for Black History Month.
There are two separate worksheets which can be either printed front and back or stapled together (which I think is the easier way).
Students will solve equations on one worksheet, then write the number in the blank for the corresponing sentence on the other worksheet.
Their answers will them how many siblings Michael Jackson had, what age he begain performing professionally, how many top singles he had, and more.
Included in this product are:
* One sheet with 12 two-step equations.
* One sheet for students to enter the answers and discover facts about Michael Jackson.
* Two pages of answer keys, so you can quickly and easily check answers by looking at either worksheet.
Can be used collaboratively or in groups.

Middle schoolers love games! Make this more fun by having students write their guesses for the answers (for example, how many movies was Chadwick Boseman in?) before working the problems, and then later seeing how many they worked correctly.
