What educators are saying
Description
Help teach children how to tell the truth with the following activities:
Activity 1: TRUTH OR LIE GAME. Players hold up visual flash card to share if the task card is a true statement or a lie.
Activity 2: LYING DICE GAME. Select the lying card, read it, and roll the die to answer the matching die question related to pros and cons of lying/honesty. Use the cards in activity 3 as resources.
Activity 3: BUILD A TRUTH STATEMENT. Place the matching task cards under the truth statement prompt. Once built, the truth statement will include what the lie was, (2) the reason for the lie, (3) an apology, and (4) the truth. Role plays are encouraged once the truth statement is completed. This activity can be used with all 44 lying scenarios.
Activity 4: WORKSHEETS. Use worksheets to practice telling the truth. Include the lying task cards as prompts, or personal experiences to encourage empathy and trust awareness. For extra fun, laminate and use a dry erase marker to use repeatedly.
Activity 5: BUILD A TRUST BEAR. Acknowledge correct choices with pieces of the bear. Each body part represents the truth and when pieced together, trustworthiness has been developed and a reward card is provided.
