Truffala Tree Grows Magically
When you finish reading The Lorax, there is no guarantee what will happen to that very last seed. But for your students, you can magically bring the tree to grow before their eyes. The basic props are the center of a paper towel roll and some tissue paper. You will need to practice, because the tissue paper is soft and needs a gentle lift. But the kids will be able to end the story with a hopeful dramatic finale.
And the growing tree top can also work with a unit on saving the rainforest, Arbor Day, or any time you may be planting a tree at your school or in a nearby public place. It is pretty enough to save on your paper towel holder for a base.
Follow the directions exactly, and the rewards are worth it!
