    Description

This Trigonometric Functions Unit 1 Bundle includes guided notes, google slideshow presentations, practice activities, check point quizzes, and two versions of a unit test that cover the following information:

    • Convert between Radians, Degrees, and DMS
    • Sketch angles in standard position
    • Finding reference angles
    • Identify positive and negative coterminal angles
    • The Unit Circle
    • Finding the six trigonometric functions of any angle
    • Concepts of even and odd trigonometric functions
    • Cofunction Identities
    • Right triangle trigonometry
    • Finding sides and angles of right triangles

This unit of study is divided into five sections:

    1. Converting between Radians, Degrees, and DMS
    2. Coterminal and Reference Angles
    3. Unit Circle Trigonometry
    4. Trigonometric Functions of any Angle
    5. Right Triangle Trigonometry

For each of the sections of study I have provided everything you will need to teach your students about trigonometric functions. This includes:

    • Guided Notes: Guided notes are printable notes that help students organize lecture content and actively respond to material presented in class. A Google Slides presentation is included that you can click through while teaching the lesson.
    • Practice Activities: This activity can be used as classwork assignment, homework assignment, or re-teaching activity.
    • Check Point Activities: Check Point Activities can be used in multiple ways depending on the needs of your students. Most of the time I will use them as either exit tickets -- to assess my students learning at the end of the lesson, warm-ups -- to evaluate students learning at the beginning of the next lesson, or topic quizzes -- to obtain a formal assessment of students understanding of the lesson.

Understand radian measure of an angle as the length of the arc on the unit circle subtended by the angle.
Explain how the unit circle in the coordinate plane enables the extension of trigonometric functions to all real numbers, interpreted as radian measures of angles traversed counterclockwise around the unit circle.
Use special triangles to determine geometrically the values of sine, cosine, tangent for π/3, π/4 and π/6, and use the unit circle to express the values of sine, cosine, and tangent for π–𝘹, π+𝘹, and 2π–𝘹 in terms of their values for 𝘹, where 𝘹 is any real number.
Use the unit circle to explain symmetry (odd and even) and periodicity of trigonometric functions.
Understand that by similarity, side ratios in right triangles are properties of the angles in the triangle, leading to definitions of trigonometric ratios for acute angles.
