What educators are saying

Excellent resource! I used this with my students at the beginning of November during Treaty Week and to introduce our Social Studies topic on Early Indigenous Peoples and European Explorers.

Description

Teach your students about Treaty week. The focus is on Ontario but could easily be adapted to other uses.

All student, indigenous and non-indigenous benefit from learning about the Treaties, histories, contributions and perspectives of the Inuit, Metis, and First Nations.

Includes teaching through videos, links, interactive activities, and text examples. Includes some treaty wampum belts with links. There are two links on the Metis and their treaty rights. There are two links for the Inuit and what types of agreements have been made with them.

All items have links to external resources such as: Ontario.ca, Historica Canada, Canada's History, Onondaga Nation, Archaeology Museum, CBC, Heritage Minutes, Treaty Relations Committee of Manitoba, etc. to ensure professional voices are being presented.
