Description

Are you introducing or reviewing the concepts of literary tone and literary mood with your students? Are you looking to help students differentiate between these two commonly confused concepts? If so, these tone and mood guided notes, practice activities, and graphic organizers are for you!

Using this no-prep product, you'll guide students through the following:
1. One two-sided scaffolded note sheet in which students will review both definitions and examples. Students will review how authors develop both tone and mood; the difference between these two concepts is repeatedly reinforced.

2. Two one-sided practice pages (one for tone, one for mood) in which students are asked to identify, analyze, and create mood/tone. After reading a brief text, students first identify the mood/tone within, then analyze how this was created by the author. Finally, students write their own brief text to match the tone/mood shown in the original text. That's right... three levels of Bloom's on each sheet!

3. Two multi-application graphic organizers (one for tone, one for mood). These generic organizers can easily be applied to any texts that clearly show either tone or mood.

Answer keys are provided for guided notes and practice pages; these are great to display during the note-taking process! Ink-saver (border free) version also included!
