Description

Tone Task Cards

These task cards are great for grades 6-12, depending on the needs of your age group, as they practice selected response questions about tone, specifically over a nonfiction passage. Many resources exist for fiction, but nonfiction is a focus for upper grades.

Each task card consists of a short passage, followed by a multiple choice question with options A-D.

This resource includes:

  • Task Cards on PowerPoint
  • Task Cards as JPGs
  • Terms of Use
  • A blank card template
  • The answer key
  • A recording page

If you need to practice or remediate tone in a tactile way, this is the item for you! You could use this as a review for your state standardized test, you could make it a center combined with other practices, and you could even leave this work for a substitute -- no prep needed!
