These second grade timed reading fluency passages are fun and engaging for your 2nd graders! There are 33 decodable passages of varying word-per-minute difficulty. They cover a wide variety of texts indlcuding fiction, non-fiction, narrative, and opinion texts.
What are decodable timed reading fluency passages?
Decodable passages and decodable readers are texts where the majority of the words are decodable--or can be sounded out. These reading fluency passages are intended to be read in one minute. The first passages encourage a fluency of 50 words per minute. By the end of 2nd grade, these passages are intended for kids reading 90 wpm.
