Time Travel to Settlements in the New World - Complete Unit

I decided to help engage my kids in history this year by learning history through the eyes of a time traveler. This unit is made up of 4 lessons. Each lesson contains a PowerPoint and a note taking guide.

Spanish Colonies in the Americas: In this PPT, kids will go back in time to the Spanish Colony in Americas / New Spain. They will meet and learn from 5 people including Aztecs, Spanish Soldiers, Peninsulares (upper class), Spanish Missionaries, and Timucua Indians.

Roanoke/Jamestown (English Colonies in Virginia): In this PPT, kids will go back in time to the English Colonies in Virginia / Roanoke and Jamestown. They will meet and learn from 8 people including Sir Walter Raliegh, John White, settlers for the Virginia Company, Pocahontas, John Smith, settlers during the starving time, and John Rolfe.

Pilgrims and Puritans in New England: In this PPT, kids will go back in time to meet the Pilgrims and Puritans in New England. They will meet and learn from 7 people including a separatist, Samoset, Squanto, John Winthrop, a fur trader, and an indentured servant.

French and Dutch in North America: In this PPT, kids will go back in time to meet the French and Dutch Settlers in New France and New Netherland. They will meet and learn from 5 people including Samuel de Champlain, an Iroquois Indian, Robert La Salle, Henry Hudson, and a settler in New Netherland.
