Description

Tier 2 Vocabulary Interactive Notebook Units for Second and Third Grade includes 78 pages of activities, games, and word wall cards. Systematically and explicitly teach tier two academic vocabulary using interactive vocabulary notebooks and additional activities to reinforce vocabulary learning. Your students will love taking ownership over learning new vocabulary while creating their own Interactive Vocabulary Notebook!

2nd and 3rd Grade Level Tier Two Words - 60 words targeted in 10 units.

This set is designed to keep kids engaged by presenting the vocabulary words in multiple contexts and by including several interactive and fun games that reinforce the vocabulary the student is learning. It includes interactive notebook template pages so your student's can create their own Interactive Vocabulary Notebook. It also includes visuals for creating a “word wall.” There are 3 styles of word wall cards for you to choose from - black and white (lowest ink usage), blue dots (low ink usage, color or black/white), and blue/green chevron (high ink usage, color). Also includes blank word wall templates for the blue/green chevron and blue dots cards so you can add your own vocabulary words.

This set enables you to address goals such as: increasing vocabulary, using context to determine meaning of unknown words, defining words, synonyms, answering questions, and more.

The activities in this set are also aligned with Common Core Standards. The specific standards addressed are listed on page 4.

Each level contains 30 tier two vocabulary words - 10 adjectives, 10 verbs, and 10 nouns. Each level is organized as a unit broken into 5 subunits each targeting 6 vocabulary words (2 adjectives, 2 verbs, and 2 nouns.) At the end of the each unit are game cards which target every vocabulary word either in synonyms, multiple choice, or “make a connection” open ended question cards as well as a fun “mad lib” style story including the unit vocabulary.

There are also cards to play an “apples to apples” style vocabulary game. Most requested game by my kids!
