Description
Teaching in special education, it can be tricky to navigate the HW requests from parents, students, or requirements from school personnel. Often one of the most beneficial things we can do, is use our HW assignments to help students (and their families) to develop the skills necessary to be independent, productive and SUCCESSFUL at home and in their communities! These monthly units aim to do just that!
Each month includes a parent letter, introduction, activities lists as well as related visual cues and supports.
Current Themes (As of August 2020):
- Grocery Shopping
- Restaurant
- Household Chores *Paper packet AND accompanying interactive digital schedule resource (Google Slides)
- Self Care *Paper packet AND accompanying interactive digital schedule resource (Google Slides)
- Leisure Skills *Paper packet AND accompanying interactive digital schedule resource (Google Slides)
USING DIGITAL RESOURCES:
1. Open the PDF for a link. You will immediately be directed to "Make a Copy" to open the document in Google Drive.
2. RENAME the file and save to your drive.
3. If sending work remotely to students, use YOUR new link to provide them with a copy.
4. It is recommended that this activity be used on a computer, chromebook or laptop, though it may work in the Google Slides app with some tablets.
